Day 1: Demo "The Aftermath"

This is what I came home to today:

No floor, hammers. glue, etc.  But I was MORE than ok with this because the demo peeps did this all in about 2.5 hours.  Also they needed to level the floor so Husband took me out for margaritas.  (we couldn’t be on the floors when they were putting the compound down)
Here are pics of the rest of the damage.

 My furniture, strewn about.

It already looks bigger without the carpet.

I luuurve seeing chunks of fugly wood floor stuck to the concrete.  Like its holding on for dear life.  Sorry builder basic fugly floors. you’re outta here!

Here is the tile that Mike the flooring guy (who also happens to be our neighbor) picked out for our baby bathroom downstairs.  Which I’m pretty excited about cuz I have plans to paint this bathroom grey.  And this tile has grey undertones, which are hard to see in this pic.

You can kinda see it better in this one.  trust me it will be legendary.
So right now, because of the mayhem downstairs (the leveling compound is still wet) Me, Husband, 2 dogs and 3 cats are chillin in our master bedroom.  We’ve got the tv balanced on squinch baby Sheldon’s kennel.  I’m blogging from the bed. Husband is trying on all his new clothes in the closet. Dogs are gnawing on bones on the floor. Cats have claimed the master bathroom.  Its very squished in here.  But we are all very happy cuz the wood floors should be mostly done tomorrow.  Now, when they start the carpet that will be another story.  We may have our mattress in the middle of the living room for a couple of days.  Eh, no biggie.
PS countdown to inlaws: 1.5 days.  EEP!!!
