Happy Valentines Day, Every Day the 14th!

In keeping with my 3 year tradition, those are Outkast lyrics in the title.

I’ve never been big on Valentine’s day.

I think Husband and I have only been in the same place at the same time once for this holiday.

People are always feeling bad for me on Valentine’s day.

Rest assured people, this is not my first rodeo.

Husband and I met in college.

He went to school in Duluth and I went to school in the Twin Cities.

See?

From the start we were apart.  (and i’m a poet and I didn’t even know it… har de har har)

Then, very soon after we started dating, Husband transferred to North Dakota and I moved back to Nebraska.

Let me just cut to the chase: Husband and I didn’t live in the same city until a few months before we got engaged.

It gets better.

Exactly 30 days after we were married, Husband was offered a co-op position at NASA in Houston.

I was still in school.

So Husband moved to Houston and I stayed in Nebraska.

Wait.  It gets better.

In June of 2007, Husband and I decided to move permanently to Houston.

I found a job.

Husband had like 2 classes to finish.

So after 3 months, Husband went back to Nebraska and I stayed in Houston.

When he came back in Dec of 2007, he took his oil field job.

And here we are today, apart for Valentine’s day.

People think that the way we live is crazy.  But you have to know the history.

The history is that we have learned to live apart when we have to.

Our relationship started this way.

And we are stronger because of it.

So Happy Valentine’s Day Husbando!

Even though we’ve done this a thousand times before, I still miss you like crazy.

(the pups do too…)
