Help Me Pwease!

I convinced Husband to empty his pockets for floors.

Any of you who have met Husband knows that he dosen’t spend ANY money on ANYTHING.

EVER.

Don’t ask me how  I did it.  I don’t exactly know.

Anyhoo.

I can usually make a decision about design shiz with the speed of a desperate frat boy.

However, I’m having trouble with this flooring business.

Correction.

Husband and I disagree about the wood floor that will cover our main  floor.

The problem is that we have fugly yellowy cabinets. I’d love to paint them but, eh, tons o work for unpredictable results.

So the floors need to “go” with the cabinets but not “match” the cabinets (cuz they match now and its hideous)

So. Once Again. I pawn these questions off on you. so if it doesn’t work out I can tell Husband “its not MY fault! The blog readers said to pick that one!”

I actually would never blame you.

I’d just convice Husband that he’s off his rocker and that I am always, and perpetually, right.

Amen.

Ok. Enough bullshitting.

Pics of our two choices of wood with our cabinets:

….One word of caution: the samples they gave us are like one or two planks.  Hardly enough to make a life altering decision.

Just use your best judgement.

Your gut feeling is always best.

I’m delaying cuz i’m petrified that you’ll all pick the one Husband wants.

Ok but seriously… the choices are as follows:

Option #1
Please excuse the dishtowels.  They are blocking out the options we nixed from the start.

Option #2:
Annoying thing about option 2…. only one plank.  kinda hard to see but this is what we have to deal with.

FYI these are the floors in the kitchen now…. fugly.

Ok. So put your choice in the comments.  I’ll never tell you what one was my pic but I will show you before and afters once the floor we choose is installed.

P.S. How excited am I that things are happening around here so that I can blog? super de duper excited!  Hopefully I never reach bloggers block again!

Smooches!

Painting cabinets really isn’t that bad! I promise.. I did it in the bathrooms. I am doing it to my kitchen, too. I loved the results. Speaking of that I actually need to post pics of them. I’ll do in in a few days.. but really you should consider it!

By the way, I’m giving away a really cute ring on my blog. It ends tonight so be sure to check it out!

Hi Rachel! You might not remember me but we went to grade school together at OLL. I have to say that from stalking you on Facebook I found your blog and it introduced me to other decorating blogs as well, and I’m addicted, so thanks!. Since you asked, I like #1. Oh and I have the same exact fugly floors, with the same color cabinets! Good luck with your blog, your house looks great!

Hi Rachel, My only advice is don’t go with dark wood. You will see every dog hair, every speck of toast crumbs, every piece of lint, and every dust mote. How do I know this you ask? My folks used to have a dark brown countertop. Love, Becky S
