Up in the Air

FIL, aka Pappa Jeff, is a pilot of small planes like this one:

He took Husband out on a little flight around Alexandria and the chain of lakes this morning. The chain of lakes are 5 lakes that all connect: Lakes Darling, Carlos, Le Homme Dieu, Geneva, and Victoria.  I would have gone but that plane is a true 2 seater and I had more important things to do like watch Modern Family and NOT throw up from motion sickness.

Here is the route they took around Alex.  Husband used a fancy app on his phone to do this.  cool huh.

In Laws live on the Eastern shore of Lake Le Homme Dieu. SIL#1 lives near the end of Lake Victoria, which isn’t labeled for whatever reason.  Its Southeast of the last ‘a’ in Alexandria.

That beach between the 2 lakes is Rotary beach.  We go there with the pontoon most days and prop up the sea legs (google it) and swim and bake in the sun.  And drink beer. Lake in the foreground is Le Homme Dieu, the lake in the background is Carlos.

Heres another shot of it, its to the left of the road.  You can hardly see the beach cuz the water is so ungodly high this year.  That little triagle of pine trees is known as the “three havens” area. The lake to the left is Lake Le Homme Dieu and the lake to the right is Lake Carlos.

 A wake boarder… Husband just couldn’t resist.

This is the In Laws house.  See the parallel parked pontoon? We Husband had to do that cuz the pontoon sits on its sea legs and if a big storm comes with the water this high it will smash it into the rocks.  So we husband had to move it to shallower water.

Random Fact: Today is Husband and My 5th anniversary.  See those big flower pots on the patio by the lake? We are renewing our vows between them tomorrow!

The building with the red roof is Bug-a-Boo Bay Restaurant.  The have docks along the shore so we can boat there to eat.  Its pretty fun.  The lake in the foreground is Lake Le Homme Dieu, The lake behind is Lake Darling.

This is Pappa Jeff landing.

Hope you enjoyed this aerial tour of Alexandria and the chain of lakes!  Tootles!!
