When Boats Attack

Sorry this is so late poodles.

We had a boat emergency.

See the water here in Alexandria is so super de duper high that the boat lifts can’t even lift the boats out of the water.  So, since the boat lift we have was kinda still in the water, and the waves were large enough to surf on, our boat made a break for it.

Husband ran out and jumped in the lake and held the boat from floating away.

I, because I’m an amazing wife, grabbed my camera and started taking pics.

Then Husband made me drive the boat in circles in the middle of the lake while he and SIL#2’s boyfriend moved the boat lift into shallower water.

Momentous day we had.

And the most important feat: I drove the boat for the first time ever and didn’t capsize/sink/die.

Husband standing on the submerged lift trying to prevent the boat from escaping.
The front of the boat is supposed to be way to the left up under the canopy.
this is SIL #2’s BF.  He is holding the boat while husband went to get the fully charged battery.  Cuz of course the battery would die when we need it to start the absolute most.  Also the knob fell off of the electronic lift so husband had to directly connect the wires to power the lift WHILE standing in the water.  He’s so lucky he didn’t die.

Hopefully I’ll have a normal post tomorrow.  Unless of course the pontoon you see in the background tries to make a break for it too.

Tootles!
